We have all had valley moments.
Moments where we felt scattered, dried out, and too far gone. Seasons where hope felt lost and we quietly said, “There’s no coming back from this.” Like the dry bones in Ezekiel 37, lifeless, disconnected, and exposed.
But God.
In Ezekiel 37:1–14, the Lord brings the prophet into a valley full of dry bones — not slightly broken, not barely hanging on — but very dry. And He asks a powerful question: “Son of man, can these bones live?” Only God can ask that in the middle of something that looks completely over.
Because He is the One who restores.
God does not just patch things up. He speaks. And when He speaks, things shift. Bones come together. What was scattered is reconnected. What was empty is filled. And then He breathes.
It wasn’t Ezekiel’s power. It wasn’t positive thinking. It was the breath of God.
The same God who formed man from the dust in Genesis breathes again in Ezekiel — and what was dead stands up as a living army. The Lord says, “I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live.” This wasn’t just about bones; it was about His people. Israel felt cut off, hopeless, and forgotten. But God was restoring them and drawing them back to Himself.
And He is still doing that today.
If you feel like you’ve lost your way… if you’ve fallen short… if you’ve reached a low place where you thought life couldn’t be rebuilt — hear this: the valley is not your ending place.
God is restoring His people.
He is drawing us back to Him. Back to dependence. Back to life. Back to purpose. The breath in your lungs is not accidental — it is a reminder that He is not finished. What felt dead is not beyond His reach. What looked over is not over.
It’s not over yet.
The same Spirit that raised dry bones is able to revive hearts, restore identity, and renew hope. And when He breathes on you, life begins again — not just to exist, but to live with Him.
God is still speaking. And His breath still brings life.
